Year 8

As in Year 7, Year 8 pupils see one specialist teacher for 4 science lessons in the labs each week.

We continue to deliver the ISEB science syllabus as a series of topics taught in varying blocks of lessons. For example 6 lessons on the Biology topic of habitats may be followed by 8 Chemistry lessons on reactivity and displacement, then 6 Physics lessons on energy sources and electricity generation.

Homework is usually a 30 minute task, set weekly, but occasionally extended pieces are set for which extra time is allowed. There is an expectation that pupils will revise regularly too, and they are set weekly 10 minute chemical reaction tests.
